Busy Me

I have been sewing, sewing, sewing.  Everyday, I spend a at least three hours sewing.  In the evenings while we watch TV I cut out projects or knit.  I also added a ton of things to the Shoppe, some sewn some vintage. I have also been busy matching up partners for the Vintage Pink Christmas Swap.  If you are participating, I hope to get your partners info to you tomorrow!

Remember a couple of days ago I said MCcoy, here it is.  I picked it up at the estate sale I went to last Saturday.  It is in the Shoppe in the China cupboard.

New Ephemera packet. Be My Baby

Here are some of the reusable market bags I have made.  They are also now in the Shoppe.

Fun vintage pin, now in the Shoppe.

Fun bangles.

Pretty vintage Holly pin.  I entered a ton of other jewelry, so check it out.

Ok, had to show you this one, isn’t it pretty.

I will be posting all the fun sewing projects in the next few days.

New Items and Giveaway Part Deux

I am starting off with a little gripe session. Today, Graham and I went to Walmart, which I HATE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I didn’t hate it as much when we lived in Napa, because the Walmart there was super close to my house, it wasn’t a super Walmart, It was clean, the people were not too creepy and I did not feel lost in it. The Wal mart here is close to my house, but it is a SUPER walmart and it is sooo big I feel like I may never make it out of the store. I only went because they were having a super sale on school supplies. I got the super sale school supplies and some fruit and headed to the check out. It is finally my turn and I let the cashier know I brought my own bags. She gives me a look and says OK. So, I set my bags up on their plastic bag turney thing and she starts scanning my merchandise. Instead of sticking it in my bags, she sets it on top of the turney thing. I am wondering if she expects me to bag it since I brought my own bags. Finally, there was no more room on top of the turney thing and she looks at me and says” I don’t know what you want me to do with this or if there is some special way you want these in your bags?” She was not nice about it either. I said”I just want the stuff in the bags.” Still no move on her part to bag it. Apparently I am supose to bag my own stuff since God forbid I want to help the planet and brought my own bags. Yes, I bagged it myself. Sheesh!! What do they get paid for at that place???

Today I added these to the store. 1 Set of cloth napkins. I have 3 more sets to add in different colors, just need to get them together and photographed.

I also added these packs of vintage Flinch Cards. There are two different styles, these are from the 30’s and the other set is from 1913. Each bundle contains the numbers 1-15.

This is the other type of Flinch Card. Doesn’t it look cute with the vintage French Flash Card.

You can also find these cute vintage S&P shakers, I will be adding these in the AM, my eyes are bugging out! I also added the cute red cherry trays from yesterdays post.

Onto the giveaway. It has been fun to read everyone’s responses to my question. If you want and extra point you can mention the giveaway on your blog, just let me know that you did it. Here are the rules again.

US residents only. Answer a question each day and get a point for correct answers, the person with the most correct answers will get to pick out 20$ or less of merchandise from the Shoppe. You can either email me the answers or leave them in the comment section. Drum Roll………….

Todays question is: How many kids do I have, what are their names and ages?

You will get a point for each part of the question, so potential of 3 points!

Good Luck!

Serging & Sewing FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!

I finally set up my sewing machine and found a small corner of the sewing room to sew in.  The exciting thing is that I also finally opened the serger box, it has been sitting brand new, unopened since before we left Napa.  SHeesh   It only took me 30 minutes to get the serger threaded for the first time, and I got it right, so I felt pretty good about the whole thing:)

So here is a picture if my little serger right after I finished setting it up, it works great.  My old serger was about 100 years old and was a hand me down from my step grandma when she moved to the retirement home.  It was antiquated technology so I traded it in a got this new guy, so excited to make some more stuff.

This is what I made, a darling re-usable shopping bag.  I made it out of a vintage pillow case, I love how it turned out.  It is not huge, but still holds a lot which you can see in the following photos.  I will be listing these in the Shoppe.  Being “green” is such an important thing, and this is my little contribution.  Plus, I am all about being cute , so these are the perfect solution.

You even get a sneak peak at the kitchen here.  This is my neeto pink vintage phone, and yes we actually use it.  All the girls new friends ask about it when they see it, it is pretty funny.  My girls think it is normal:)  You also can see the pretty wall color that hubby just finished in the kitchen.  It is YUMMY!!

The girl at Walmart did not know what to do with the re-usable bags, sheesh, this is  why I hate going to  Walmart.  I had to get diapers so I had no choice, oh well.  Off to go sew, YIPPEE!
